We asked Paula Saldones to tell in 2 photos and a story, what connects her day. Showing in practice what it is like to work in our flexible and distributed model, but always close. The result is an inspiring testimony about how she manages to fully live her two great passions: being an agile leader and a bellydancer_ At the same pace_
Check it out_
A belly-versatile life_
At the age of 15, I started practicing a passion that had existed since remote memories – dance. At 16, my first solo, to the sound of Pay The Man, The Offspring.
The biggest attraction for me, in addition to the physical challenge that is constant and lasts a lifetime, is the study of instruments, rhythms, origin, culture and even language (for scenic interpretation of dance through the lyrics). Everything drives me to always seek more and more. We understand the historical context, the different tribes, we choose our style and core accessory (sword, veil, tambourine…). We study biomechanics and music reading… how not become addicted to drum takadá drum?
Continuous evolution_ everything has its time_
Now at 39 years old, I don’t feel even remotely satisfied and I’ve been looking for more and more. The momentum is infinite.
But to get here, high school, college, MBA, certifications, another world as addictive as dancing was developed.
When the limitations of physical distance and the need for in-person commitment lead us to make choices, responsibility speaks louder.
And a passion has been dormant or has remained more in theory than in practice, so to speak.
The agility of body and soul_
Dance patiently awaited and today, thanks to the connectivity that a remote company like Invillia offers me, I fully live my two great passions – Being an agile leader and being a bellydancer.
I often joke that by day I am an agile leader and at night I am a bellydancer.
On this magical journey on the other side, I count on masters and inspirations: my particular master – Camila Iara. My advisor on issues of Egyptian techniques – Bruno Habib and my inspirations – from today: Alla Kushnir, Diva Darina… and from the golden age: Soheir Zaki.
More than the presentation, the stage scene, the process enchants me. The design and choice of costumes (interaction with stylists is amazing), classes, studies, biomechanics, strategy, preparation… The daily exercises at the gym, food, care, everything ends up being directed towards that end, and it’s this routine that’s great!
The adrenaline when the date approaches, seeing yourself in the mirror more than ready, seeing yourself later and laughing at your own mission accomplished, the backstage…. all this defines my understanding of life.
And people? People that we find and meet, the overcoming stories?! Wow, the process is really awesome!
A connected world makes me live a full, healthy and free life. And accelerated my evolutionary process in dance by a ratio of one year of study to four weeks (I’m not exaggerating, that’s a fact and the festival results show it). And then, being two, I feel complete!
