We asked José Neto, Python Developer at Invillia, to tell in 2 photos, 1 video and a story, what connects his day 🙂 Showing in practice what it is like to work in our flexible and distributed model, but always close. Routine, interactions, work-life balance. The result is an incredible testimony in his climb through life with Invillia. From the opportunity to innovate like he never imagined to continuous learning and conquering the most demanding challenges (or mountains).

The good life
I believe that the good life is the goal of every human being. In this process, we try to make the search for happy moments something constant. In a mission that ends up showing, among everything that surrounds us, what really nourishes us with good energies.
Today I invite you to know a little about my experience of being at #Invillia. An opportunity that helps in my long walking (or better, climbing) to reach the title of this text.
Nice to meet you, my name is José!
I am from Patos, located in the Paraíba hinterland.
I have 25 years very well lived where I have been collecting various sports, codes, friendships, places, colors, smells and flavors. Yeah, I really love contact, I love everything that I feel life, that I feel love.
And it was recently that I met the greatest of them all, my daughter Arielle, now 7 months of great cuteness.
The three of us (me, my lovely wife and my daughter) live in a cozy apartment well located next to Espinho Branco, to which I am whenever possible practicing the best sport in the world kkk Rock climbing!
My day
Most of my day I am here, sitting in front of my computer, with my coffee, my daughter at my fingertips, my codes and my work friends that I share my whole professional life (and also some personal) all the days.
I start the day with a wonderful alarm clock of monosyllabic syllables sung by my daughter (and sometimes with a few kicks to the rib, it depends on the day). I get up, I see the beautiful day, I see my wife even more beautiful and we have coffee together. After breakfast, I sit at the PC, say good morning to my friends and start working. Simple, isn’t it? Yes, it is! And it could be monotonous (a word I don’t like) if it weren’t for the comfort of eventually being able to start differently: I run, swim in the condominium pool, go out to climb with friends, solve a pending issue at home, stay with my daughter, etc., etc.
So, between 7-10 hours in the morning José Python Developer accelerates his day-to-day in balance with the Suassuna team. First I open Instation and then I connect on a daily with the most amazing coworkers in the galaxy. We are the incredible merger of an Invillia and a Tembici team searching together to developing something revolutionary and wholehearted for cyclists. Working with these guys is really a transformative thing in my life. We learn a lot every day from each other.
Between 12-13 hours, after having a good lunch, I pack some things in the house and rest for a while until I return to the office and continue with the team until I reach my long-term goal. Of course, at times I enjoy the night, sometimes because I feel more instigated, sometimes for the leisure of learning something more about the technology we are using, etc. When I’m not looking for something new, I take the end of the day to stay with my wife, watch a movie, play with the baby, organize the house, etc. Our nights as a family are always a surprise and we seek to innovate in everything.
The climb
I have tried to fit in several sports, and the attempts kind of stood out more than my brief persistence in each one. For a long time, I thought that my fate was to jump from sport to sport (Parkour, airsoft, fights, dances, etc.) knowing a little of everything. It really describes me well. And with that, it would be easy to leave the climb to practice another sport. Did not happen. Climbing is much more than a sport for me.
It is on the weekend, more precisely Saturday afternoon, that I disconnect, that I gather my equipment, my anxieties of the week, my sadness and joy, and go to meditate on nature, on the rock. Each path I walk, each stretch of the walk until reaching the “foot of the mountain” is an experience of cleansing, of purification. About touching the rock and climbing it? It’s something magical!
In the silence of the mountain, I hear the being that society corrupts to fight against its descendants: instinctive, strong and cautious. I understand who I am, who I was and who I will be embraced by the mother who conceived me, nature. It is not about ascending and then descending, it is about ascending, it is about conquering yourself over yourself, it is about self-knowledge, rejuvenation, wisdom and respect! The mountain is my time!
Lastly
Life is made up of many situations, good and bad. I commonly see friends and colleagues living in order to endure discomfort, anguish and sadness in favor of a possible joy ahead, and that sometimes that joy is something fleeting or is something they told you was joyful and, for not having time for nothing, you think everything is fine. It’s like: I’m going to stay in this job that gives me more money to buy such a thing because it will make me happy, etc. This sounds very cliché, but it is what most occurs.
If I can leave something for you, friend, I say: Live, live intensely, live where you feel really good, in a human job, in a company that allows you to enjoy the good life now, in the present. I found Invillia, and it fits my needs every day. It looks like magic, but it’s infinite digital power 🙂
