We asked João de Lucca, Content & Brand Strategist at Invillia, to tell in four photos and a story, what connects his day. From breakfast to computer shut-down. Showing in practice what it is like to work in our distributed model, but always close. The result is a great testimony of how he makes the most of life. Balancing strategic meetings and sprints with moments of inspiration_ including entering the sea, before sunrise, and surfing for new ideas for a few hours.

To good habits
The human being has an incredible capacity for adaptation. Creates new routines, makes small changes in his own universe, which are capable of completely changing the direction of his day. I am a person who believes in the importance of maintaining good habits and, with this text, I want to share with you a little bit of my day and some ideas that changed my life.
Nice to meet you ?
Hello, my name is João Victor de Lucca, I am 28 years old and I am born and raised in the city of São Paulo, Brazil.
For many of us, the current context has physically distanced us from each other. But that does not mean that we are no longer able to connect. Since I joined Invillia, I have never been to the company’s headquarters, in person. But with technology and a culture that encourages collaboration, at no time do I feel disconnected from my peers – quite the contrary.
I am part of a team distributed between Iquique, Chile; Lisbon and Porto, in Portugal; Araraquara, São Carlos and São Paulo, Brazil – and every day we get a little closer with relaxed moments of interaction. Maintaining the habit of having open and constant communication, regardless of the subjects, is one of the main factors that makes us achieve this approach (even if physically distant) and the feeling of belonging remains strong.
But before I meet the team at Instation and start my activities, I have a well-defined routine that gives me the pace to make the most of the day that is just beginning.
Starting well to continue even better
It all starts at 6:15 am, when the alarm goes off. I take a shower, sit on my meditation cushion for a few minutes, and at 7:00 am I start my class at the gym. At around 8:30, with a calm mind and the endorphin acting on the body, I start my workday inspired and full of energy. Another possibility too – which is a little more rare – is when I manage to enter the sea before the sun rises and surf for a few hours.
I can say that, for me, these morning habits are the most valuable, they are what I need to start the day in a good mood. And if for some reason, I can’t do any of those parts of my morning, the rest of my day is affected. So I give a lot of importance and I dedicate myself to maintain these habits.
At the end of the day, I like to disconnect a little from the world and read a good book, where I find a lot of my life inspiration (whether personal or professional). I am currently reading a book written by British scientist Matthew Walker, called “Why We Sleep”, which is transforming the way I see my hours of sleep – and I strongly recommend that you read it too.
Living life
With each passing day, we learn a little more about ourselves, changing and adapting to the world around us, and most importantly: living.
I hope that this quick text about what works for me somehow inspires you to rethink and maintain good habits in your life.
