We asked Isabel Coutinho to tell in 2 photos and a story, what connects her day. From breakfast to computer shut-down. Showing in practice what it is like to work in our flexible and distributed model, but always close. Routine, interactions, work-life balance. The result is an inspiring testimony of how she gained quality of life and time to do everything she loves most. Including teaching, empowering, meditating, reading and cycling.

Hello 🙂
I am Isabel, better known to everyone as Bel. I have been working with technology for 15 years and the last 8 are dedicated to agility, management and leadership. I live in Rio de Janeiro and have been with Invillia since April 2020. I am passionate about sharing knowledge and transforming people’s lives through lectures, training and mentoring.
Starting to work without distances
Before Invillia, I worked with companies in the financial, telecom, retail and entertainment segments, but always in the face-to-face context. When I saw the opportunity to act in a remote context, I did not think twice “I need to experience this in my career!”.
At first, that fear of will people like me? How to break the barriers of digital and be able to do what needs to be done? This was quickly demystified because the culture of the company welcomes you in such a way that, in a week, you are already able to help new employees. Certainly, culture is a differentiator!
My day
I usually start the day by practicing about 15 or 20 minutes of meditation to leave my mind clean and ready for a new day. Then, when I arrive at the company (login to Instation), I start talking to the people of the two teams I work for, checking Teams messages and, of course, always accompanied by my cup of coffee.
Today, I am working on a major digital transformation challenge at scale for a company in the retail segment, which makes the journey even more interesting. When we work in retail, we have no routine and the challenges are always great because our work impacts thousands of people.
It is nice to see the teams working with purpose and generating incredible results.
Sharing and empowering
In addition to acting with the two squads, here at Invillia I also contribute to the Academy of Leaders doing what I love, which is sharing knowledge, meeting people I would never know in person, and the main one: exchanging a lot of experience.
Recently, I joined other amazing women in the Women Together movement to foster women’s empowerment and increase our representation within the company. We know that we still have few women in technology and we want to change this scenario.
Time for everything
Working remotely allows me to keep my personal and professional life in balance, as well as other projects. Once I finish the company’s activities, I take the time that I would be commuting to practice exercises, study or dedicate myself to another passion that is reading.
I am currently reading “The rule is to have no rules – Netflix and the culture of reinvention” which talks about the culture of being constantly evolving and learning.
The good thing about working from home is having time to take more care of our health. When there is time left over at lunchtime or later towards the end of the day, I can dedicate myself to cycling – an old passion that today has been adapted to the ergometric format, a way I managed to maintain a healthier lifestyle.
If you are afraid of remote culture or are left behind before thinking about such an opportunity, I give you a hint: go for it! There is no better model for our quality of life.
