We asked Greice Pecorari, Agile Leader at Invillia, to tell in three photos and a story, what connects her day. From breakfast to computer shut-down. Showing in practice what it is like to work in our distributed model, but always close. Routine, interactions, work-life balance. The result is a delicious testimony about everything she has been learned and evolved. How she has more time to contribute to the community. How she can dedicate herself to her “puppies” (our mascots Nutella and Chantilly) and yet, at the end of the day, become chef Pecorari.
Check it out, be inspired_
Well, first things first 😉
I’m Greice, I live in the interior of São Paulo and I’m an Agile Leader. I found myself in agility (but I joke that once QA, always QA), I am the mother of two puppies, amateur masterchef, I love to travel and Harry Potter. 🙂
Before I started working at Invillia I thought I knew how the remote worked, but living it on a day-to-day basis brought me very good surprises.
Today I can organize my time very well and I have the opportunity to connect with people from all corners, it is a constant absorption of accents, curiosities and expressions from everywhere.
Starting the day in the best company_
I usually start at InStation around 8:30 am, so I have time to wake up, have a good coffee calmly, walk when courage gives the air of grace and observe the laziness of my puppies – Nutella and Chantilly.
The two have already become mascots of the meetings, appearing at the bottom of the video calls, either sleeping, playing or trying to break the sofa. And it helps a lot in approaching the team.
Learn, evolve without limits_
My days are divided between two squads within the same context. I have the opportunity to work with digital transformation on a large scale and it is one of those opportunities that you will live a few times in your life. I feel very fulfilled working with these people, I constantly learn, the days fly by and I hope to be able to contribute with them as much as they always do.
Unconsciously, I ended up taking some things from agility to my routine. To help my self-organization and always balance the two teams, I usually use a kanban board where I can have visual management of what I intend to do that day, week and month. It’s amazing how something so simple has optimized my routine so much.
Here at Invillia, I have a lot of flexibility and encouragement from everyone around me to always seek evolution and improvement and I believe that it makes all the difference within the squads.
In addition to the innovation teams, I also write for the News agility column, I have participated in the organization of the first Invillia Agile Week and I was a staff in the last Insiders. These opportunities are very important to me. As I said at the beginning, I am passionate about agility and I found myself participating in the agile community. I love writing articles, participating in events, being a Speaker. And being part of a company that encourages all of this (and helps us make something like Invillia Agile Week happen) is essential for me, being one of the reasons that made me feel at home so fast.
Balancing personal and professional life_
After an intense day of work, I usually stay off around 5:30 pm and 6:00 pm. Time to become the masterchef at home (always singing some 90’s music while I cook, for my husband’s nightmare who is a music producer hahahaha) and watch TV series or marathon some funny YouTube channel.
Before I started working on this model, I was a little afraid of how it could affect my routine negatively (I have a slight tendency to be a workaholic), but the way tasks work and fit together had a very different effect, much more healthy and balanced.
I hope that this brief report of mine encourages people who, like me in the past, are afraid to work in a fully distributed environment. Yes, you can venture into something new. Who knows, it’s the life time experience you’re looking for?
